Island Pedorthic FootCare focuses on the assessment, care and treatment of diabetic and arthritic feet and foot pain due biomechanical dysfunction.

We provide the following services:

  • Nursing Foot Care – including callus removal, corn removal and Toe Nail Care
    • Diabetic Foot Exams – monitoring of sensory threshold with monofilament testing in an effort to reduce ulcer formation.  Also includes muscle testing, temperature and evaluation of foot deformities.

Diabetic Foot Exams

  • Comprehensive Assessment of the Lower Limb and Gait – including pressure mapping with a digital pressure plate and software. This technology allows us to look for peak pressure areas and determine risk of plantar ulcerations. This is included as part of our comprehensive foot examination and allows us to establish the clients risk category and recommended level of intervention IAW accepted standards.
  • Dispensing of Custom Foot Orthotics – we can custom manufacture foot orthotics from a variety of materials for most situations.
  • We stock shoes with extra width and depth for hard to fit feet.
  • Rigid Rocker Sole Custom Modifications on the Orthopaedic Shoes to un-weight the painful areas or high pressure areas in the foot to decrease foot pain or plantar ulcerations and to restore movement in areas of decrease ankle movement or Hallux Limitus/Rigidus.
